We are 6 days away from the due date of October 21, 2008.

My mom, sister Jonnette and best friend Della threw a very nice baby shower for me at Gepetto's Pizza in Montesano. It was really nice to be able to see friends and family and we were given a lot of really great things for the baby. We are now all set up for the baby and just awaiting his arrival!

She's going to be a big sister!

We keep telling Maya that she is going to be a big sister. I think she is excited (or at least she gets excited when we tell her)! We keep getting asked how we think she'll do when the baby comes home. I think if it were a dog she would be highly upset but luckily for us she loves babies so our biggest worry is she'll lick the baby too much!

Our good friends Mike and Cassie just had a baby 6 days ago and they just stopped by with little Kylie Cherryl (She is a doll). Maya was thrilled to have a baby here. Hopefully our theory about our dog being excited to be a big sister will hold true! We'll let you know how it goes!

Bellingham Baby Shower

The first baby shower thrown for us was in Bellingham by Grandma Jackie, Meagan and Debbie. We feel blessed to have received so many wonderful things for the baby. Here are a few pictures from the day!

The Nursery

Although it is still a work in progress here are some pictures of the nursery decor. A lot has been added since these pics were taken so we will update once we get the room organized again! We have so many things to organize and it feels as if there is so little time!

First Baby Picture

Here is our first baby picture! We had an ultrasound in May and found out we are expecting a boy! At 19 weeks he was already making practice breathing movements (beginning to move his diaphragm) in preparation for life on the outside. The ultrasound technician said it was uncommon to see the practice breathing movements so early. We surmise that it is a sign he will be an overachiever just like his parents (and this will certainly be encouraged)!
